Piotr Piotrowski

Agoraphobia after Communism

The essay focuses on the issue of public space in the context of the current situation in Poland. In the period of communist totalitarianism, Catholicism in Poland represented a common anti-regime stance. Currently, however, it plays a negative role in the presentation of art. The author gives several examples of persecution of artists and censorship of their work for purely religious reasons.
