Kodikologické puzzle rukopisů. Habent sua fata libelli

The article focuses on the late 18th century archive sources that describe that illuminated Renaissance manuscripts of Litoměřice and Český Brod provenance. These sources are essential to establish what the manuscripts originally looked like. During the process of re-Catholicisation, texts deemed unsuitable were removed from the manuscripts; illuminated folios were also cut out to satisfy the 19th century passion for collecting. The author tries to identify specific manuscript fragments.
