Guercino's Et in Arcadia ego: A Commentary on the Interpretations

The most famous iconographic analysis of the "Et in Arcadia ego" topic is a famous study by Ervin Panofski. The author seeks to critically revise its conclusions and to propose a new interpretation of this topic, focusing on a work on the given topic by the painter Guercin, which, as she says, probably does not capture Death in the role of a memento, but instead represents a passion allegory, christianising the pagan world impersonated by Arcadia.
