Ruiny jako pokus o estetickou inscenaci vědomí přelomu epochy. Nástěnné malby Tanečního sálu na zámku v Bruntále (1899-1900)

The author of the study focuses on the wall paintings in the Dance Hall of the Bruntál chateau, made in 1899-1900 by Pavel Assmann. He interprets the paintings, based on the topic of ancient ruins, in the context of aesthetic concepts of the turn of the century and their key paradigms. We may understand the paintings as an interesting example of being aware of the collapse and end of the old epoch, especially in relation to archduke Eugene of Austria, who ordered the paintings.
